Advanced Medical Assistant
Imaging (Basic X-Ray) Specialist Diploma Program at Cambridge Health
As a fully trained Advanced Medical Assistant who can also perform basic X-Rays, you’ll have an advantage in finding employment at a variety of medical offices.
After graduating and earning your diploma from this Advanced Medical Assistant and X-Ray program at Cambridge Health, you’ll be able to take the Basic X-Ray Machine Operator licensure exam in the state of Florida (BXMO). You’ll also be eligible to take the following credentialing examinations: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologists (AMT), Certified Medial Assistant exam (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). You’ll then be ready for employment at many types of healthcare facilities, including: physician’s offices, outpatient medical facilities, hospitals and clinics.

What Does A Medical Assistant & Imaging Specialist Do?
Under the direct supervision of physicians, Medical Assistants are generally responsible for the following duties:
- Preparing patients for exams
- Performing basic medical procedures to include vital signs
- Performing injections
- Performing surgical procedures
- Administrative procedure
- Coding and billing and insurance procedures
- Administering and analyzing X-rays
- Positioning patients
- Ensuring quality X-ray imagery
- Operating industry current imaging technology
- Reducing radiation exposure
- Basic X-ray machine operations
- Quality patient care

Medical Assistant & X-Ray Certification
Students who complete the Medical Assistant program at Cambridge are eligible to sit for the national certifications to consist of the RMA, CMA, NCCT, and the BXMO state license.
