Radiologic technologists are healthcare professionals who perform diagnostic imaging procedures such as x-rays, MRIs and CT scans. These individuals are able to specialize in other techniques such as mammography, sonography or cardiovascular-interventional radiology.
Radiologic Technologists work with patients to position them, gathering quality images of their body for review. These images are interpreted by radiologists and physicians to diagnose an injury or disease.
What’s it Like to Be a Radiologic Technologist?
Each day, radiologic technologists work hands-on with patients in many different facilities. How Do You Become a Radiologic Technologist?
After achieving a high school diploma, you’ll need to apply for entry into an accredited radiologic technology program. You’ll need to earn an Associate’s degree to be eligible for the ARRT certification exam. Certification is required to work in the state. After you pass the ARRT exam, you’ll receive certification and be prepared to work in various locations.
