How Long Does It Take to Get a Sonography Degree?

Our Associate of Science Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography will take approximately 24 months from start to finish. This includes all necessary requirements including clinical rotation and coursework both in-person and online through our online learning platform. 

How Do You Get a Sonography Degree?

To receive a degree in our diagnostic medical sonography, you will need to complete approximately two years of coursework through an accredited institution. Through Cambridge, our curriculum is offered as a hybrid, both online and residential for the core classes, clinical rotation and labs. Some of the coursework you must complete includes:

  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • General Physics
  • Sonography Anatomy
  • Principles of OBGYN Sonography
  • Principles of Abdominal Sonography
  • Introduction to Vascular Sonography
  • Pharmacology

You will also need to complete clinical externships one through four before your final seminar. 

What Can You Do With an Associate Degree in Sonography?

Digital sonographers use their skill to operate imaging equipment and testing equipment during the diagnostic process. Working in hospitals, doctor’s offices or other medical facilities, sonographers are given the opportunity to focus on various types of imaging including:
