During our 5 week program, you will learn necessary skills and put them into action during externships to help you land a NA job.
- Clinical Skills/Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) – Learn clinical skills like taking vital signs, patient hygiene and mobility, assisting with medical equipment, or offering feeding assistance.
- Bloodborne Pathogens Training- Learn how BBPs are spread, how to avoid exposure and what to do if you are exposed.
- Crisis Management and Emergency Response Training – Learn important skills for recognizing and responding in medical emergencies or crisis situations.
- Medical Terminology – Learn general terminology used by medical professionals to be able to follow safety protocols for yourself and patient care.
- Charting and Record-keeping – Learn to chart detailed and up-to-date medical information like treatment the patient received, when and how, so doctors and nurses can provide their patients with the best care.
- Problem Solving and Critical Thinking – Learn to identify and address issues with your patient, using critical thinking to determine if their condition needs to be brought to the attention of the nurse or doctor.
- Strong Communication Skills – Verbal and written communication are essential so you can communicate about your patient with other members of the healthcare team.
