The Online Health Information Technology program at our Atlanta Campus, has recently acquired programmatic accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). As a result, our HIT graduates are eligible to take the Registered Health Information Technology (RHIT) exam and become certified. This will help our graduates become more marketable in seeking employment in the field.
Graduating from a CAHIIM accredited program offers employers assurance that you have the professional knowledge and skills used in health information management, and have experienced a curriculum that is relevant to the trends experienced within healthcare organizations. In addition, graduates engage in industry-specific scenarios that can be used in the healthcare environment.
“We are so excited to receive CAHIIM accreditation. Programmatic accreditation changes the trajectory within the field of healthcare. Students and graduates’ benefit from attending an educational institution that is nationally recognized by professionals in the healthcare industry”, said Dr Yvette Artis, Program Dean of the Health Information Technology Program.
