Complete the Phlebotomy Program in Just Under Three Months

In just under three months, students in our Miami phlebotomy diploma program gain the core knowledge and skills they’ll need to be certified phlebotomy technicians. After you successfully complete the Phlebotomy Technician Certification program, you will be qualified to seek entry-level employment as a phlebotomy technician.

Being a phlebotomist can be a rewarding job. You’ll be able to support a larger patient care team by gathering and testing samples to diagnose and treat a full range of medical conditions. And, like other phlebotomists, you can work in many different settings – from hospitals to clinics and long-term care facilities.

What does Phlebotomy Training in Miami Include?

Our curriculum has been specially designed to cover everything you’ll need to know to qualify for a job as a phlebotomist. Our phlebotomy course includes:

  • Health care careers and the important role phlebotomists play
  • Proper blood draw procedures
  • Venipuncture procedures and processes
  • How to properly prepare and handle bodily fluids 
  • Proper patient monitoring
  • How to chart, record and report procedures and test results

All total, you’ll get at least 220 hours of training, including 100 hours of classroom training, 120 hours of lab training, 50 venipunctures and 10 skin punctures. Those training hours are required by the state of Florida before you become a phlebotomist.

What Other Requirements Are There?

After you successfully complete our phlebotomy program, you’ll want to take and pass the National Healthcare Association (NHA) exam to seek employment in the field. Once successful, you’ll receive your official phlebotomy certification. National certification isn’t required to work as a phlebotomist in Florida, but most employers prefer it.
