Dr. Carlotta Eversley-Gabriele was the keynote speaker for the graduation ceremony for Cambridge College of Healthcare & Technology’s Class of 2025. The class included the college’s first graduates from the Associate Science of Nursing program. Dr. Eversley-Gabriele shared with the class her path, starting as a Certified Nurse Assistant to completing her Doctorate in Nursing. She started her healthcare career as a CNA, changing linens and offering emotional support and direct care to patients. Always wanting to excel and be better able to care for her patients, she continued her education, becoming an RN and then completing her Doctorate. Today she is the Cultural Excellence Coach for Emory and the Unit Director for Specialty Surgery at Emory Midtown Magnet Hospital in Atlanta.
Dr. Eversley-Gabriele hoped to inspire the graduates as they stepped into their new careers. She said, “Healthcare is not just a profession. It is a calling. It requires not only skill, but heart. Not only knowledge, but compassion. And as you take your first steps into this sacred field—as medical assistants, nurses, radiation therapists, technologists, and more—I urge you to hold on to two things: First: Remember your Why… and Second: Remember WHO you are.”
She shared her keys to success: “Connect to your faith. Your attitude determines your altitude. There is power in association. Never stop learning and growing. Don’t limit yourself to a box. Be mindful of your thoughts and your self-talk. Believe in yourself. Never forget your why. Kindness is not weakness. It is your superpower. Let it lead you.”
The graduation ceremony was held at the Gas South Convention Center in Duluth, GA. Over 200 graduates received degrees or diplomas from 12 different academic programs. Family and friends were on hand to celebrate as their loved one crossed the stage and then moved their tassel to formally show they were graduated.
Dr. Eversley-Gabriele’s final thought to the graduates was, “Go heal, go serve, and go rise.” Congratulations to the Class of 2025.
