Orlando LPN School

At Cambridge Health we provide students with all of the knowledge and experience necessary to enter the field of Practical Nursing. We focus our education on the conditioning process of students to take the National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse exam (NCLEX-PN), which is required to begin work as an entry-level Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN, or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the U.S. states of California and Texas. In addition to extensive training using theoretical instruction, students are also subjected to clinical rotations in both acute and long-term care situations that help them prepare for the real-life situations that they will eventually face on a regular basis. We also provide clinical experience in medical, surgical, obstetric, pediatric and geriatric nursing settings to ensure a broad spectrum of knowledge and expertise from our graduates that will enable them to be successful in their prospective careers.

Functions of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Because the field of healthcare is so vast, LPNs are used in a variety of different medical settings. Their primary function, however, typically revolves around bedside care for patients. The list of responsibilities for an LPN includes checking and recording of vital signs such as weight, height, blood pressure and pulse, administering injections and gathering information about a patient’s medical history. In some cases, they help patients to feel comfortable and even aid with everyday tasks such as bathing, dressing and walking. With hands-on, dedicated training at the Cambridge Health Orlando LPN School, students are trained to face these and other types of responsibilities to ensure success in their field. Experienced LPNs can even take on supervisory roles over other nursing assistants, aides and LPNs.

LPN Post-Graduation Employment Opportunities

he field of nursing offers a vast amount of placement opportunities post-graduation and certification. Employment opportunities for Practical Nurses include hospitals, ambulatory care settings, long-term care facilities, home health agencies, private duty opportunities, and other appropriate areas of medical care. There is also the possibility for advancement into either a supervisory role over other LPNs or even further training to become a Registered Nurse (RN). Whatever your goal, the staff at Cambridge Health can assist you every step of the way from the admissions process into our Orlando LPN School until graduation to help you realize the endless possibilities in this exciting field of healthcare.
