HC101 Heath Care and Body Systems
- 5 weeks
- 100 clock hours
This course includes health care delivery system, health occupations, communication, interpersonal skills, computer literacy, infection control, and recognition and response to emergency situations. This course also includes safety and security, ethical and legal issues, employability skills, basic math and science, and wellness and disease concepts. In addition, students receive instruction and certification in HIV/AIDS, Domestic Violence, and OSHA.
NA101 Articulated Nursing Assistant
Patient Care Technician Program

Students must provide documentation of negative TB test or negative chest x-ray report from a physician prior to entrance to this class. Students attend a 40- hour hands-on -training experience that introduces them to employment in the nursing assistant field. Students perform and practice personal care, and basic nursing skills as related to skilled long-term care or hospital.

PC101 Home Health Aide

This course instructs students in homemaking service, shopping, meal preparation, laundry, and stages of human development, preventing the spread of infectious disease, body systems and common disorders relative to home health care. In addition, this course teaches home care of patients, maternal care, and infant care.
PC102 Patient Care Assistant

This course instructs students in nursing assistant skills for pediatric patients, maternal and infant care and adult surgical patients related to the hospital setting.
PH101 Phlebotomy
- 6 weeks
- 120 clock hours
Students that do not have documentation of a Hepatitis B vaccination are required to sign a Waiver form that states that he/she has made a voluntary decision not to be immunized against the Hepatitis B Virus prior to entrance in this class. This course includes an introduction to phlebotomy, equipment, safety, and specimen collection techniques. The student receives instruction in anatomy, infection control, special procedures and documenting competency skills. Phlebotomy procedures are practiced on training arms. No human venipunctures.
PC103 Electrocardiograph Aide

This course instructs students in the basic principles of the cardiovascular system, the normal electrocardiogram, lead placement, identifying rhythms, performing the ECG, and quality assurance improvement.
PC104 Allied Health Assistant

This course instructs students in physical therapy (unlicensed restorative skills), and introduction to respiratory care and procedures.
PC105 Patient Care Technician

This course instructs students in organization and effective team skills, and documentation and record management, advanced special care skills including colostomy care, wound care, endotrachial tube and tracheotomy care.
