This program will teach you to:

  • Define and understand fundamental concepts and principles of healthcare cybersecurity, including data protection, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Recognize common cyber threats and vulnerabilities in healthcare settings and develop strategies to mitigate and respond to these threats effectively.
  • Interpret and apply relevant healthcare cybersecurity regulations and standards, such as HIPAA and HITECH, to ensure compliance and protect patient data.
  • Implement processes to secure communication networks within healthcare facilities, focusing on integrity and confidentiality of transmitted patient data.
  • Perform risk assessments and develop risk management plans tailored to the healthcare environment.
  • Design and interpret practical security measures and controls, such as use of encryption, access controls, and incident response plans, to enhance the cybersecurity resilience of healthcare systems.
