Learn More About Our Physical Therapist Assistant Program Curriculum

Physical therapist assistants are in high demand throughout the US. Many facilities need qualified PTAs to help support their physical therapy teams. You can take advantage of this opportunity by attending Cambridge College of Healthcare & Technology’s Physical Therapist Assistant program.

What Will You Study During Your Time at Cambridge?

Our Physical Therapist Assistant program takes approximately two years to complete from start to finish. During this time, you’ll learn how to conduct exercises with patients, how to record patient care and how to best assist your physical therapist.

You’ll gain the industry insights you need for success by studying a wide variety of subjects such as:

  • PTA techniques
  • Health science
  • Psychology
  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Growth and development
  • Medical terminology

After you complete your program, you’ll receive your Associate of Science in Physical Therapy degree. You’ll also be eligible to take the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) which is required for licensing and entry-level employment.

There Are Even More Benefits to Take Advantage of Through Cambridge

Our in-depth and focused curriculum is only one of the benefits you can expect from your program at Cambridge. You’ll also have access to:

  • Externships: Hands-on training is critical in medical programs. That’s why we partner with local healthcare facilities to offer externships. You’ll get to work in the field and gain hands-on experience before you ever graduate.
  • Distance learning capabilities: We offer the school/life balance you need for success through our online learning platform. Some of your classes are eligible for online study, offering the flexibility you need to study comfortably.
  • Exam preparation and study assistance: Need help with a certain class? Struggling with prepping for an exam? Our team of committed instructors and staff are here to support you however we can.
  • Job placement services: Through our partnerships with local medical centers, we can help you find your first entry-level position through our job placement services.
