Hello, my name is Heather Arrington and I am the new librarian at the Altamonte Springs (Orlando), Florida campus of Cambridge Institute of Allied Health & Technology. I have recently moved to the Orlando area from Tallahassee with my husband, after finishing my Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Wayne State University. I previously worked at the Maguire Medical Library at Florida State University as a Graduate Assistant. I have a broad background in the medical and allied health fields, and I have decided to blend my background in the medical field with my interest in research and Information Fluency to become a Health Sciences Librarian.
Cambridge is dedicated to developing and advancing an academic culture that will enrich student competencies and critical thinking skills valued in the nursing field. Our library contains the tools that students can use to enhance their academic success. Part of my role is to assist the students with APA formatting and references for academic papers, as well as with web search strategies for student research needs. I also assist with navigating LIRN (www.lirn.net), our online database of journal articles and other allied health resources. In addition, I have begun to offer tutoring services, as well as proctoring NHA and TEAS exams on campus. I encourage all students to take advantage of the services we provide by stopping by the Library or you may email me at [email protected].
I look forward to working with all of the Cambridge students helping you to exceed your educational goals!
