Become an X-Ray Technician

How Can I Become an X-Ray Technician in Miami?

X-ray technicians are critical members of the patient care team. They assist medical professionals by using imaging to diagnose medical conditions and injuries. They also support patients by managing their exposure to radiation and positioning them for imaging. If you’re interested in becoming an x-ray technician, there are a few steps you must follow.

Start With an Accredited Radiologic Technologist Program

Once you obtain your high school diploma or GED, you’re ready to attend an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Cambridge College of Healthcare and Technology in Miami offers an in-depth program where you’ll learn how to:

  • Position patients for imaging
  • Ensure the quality of x-ray images
  • Administer and analyze x-ray images
  • Inject trace agents
  • Operate imaging equipment

The program takes two years to complete and results in an Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology degree. You’ll also get to work in local clinical healthcare facilities to gain hands-on experience in the field.

Obtain Certification Through the ARRT

Once you complete your program, you’ll be prepared to take and pass the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification exam, which is required for employment.

Our Miami campus is located conveniently on Park Centre Boulevard and offers a comfortable learning space. Plus, we offer state-of-the-art training labs where you’ll work with the same equipment you’ll use in the field. Our supportive faculty and staff are committed to helping you succeed.
