Nursing Assistant

The Nursing Assistant program is a 5-week training course that provides hands-on practice and experience in all 21 stations relevant to the field of nursing. The program offers a carefully planned balance of classroom and clinical training in all areas of patient care prescribed for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).

Our nursing school faculty consists of some of the industry’s leading professionals in their respective fields of expertise, and all of our equipment is comparable to what students can expect to operate in real-life settings in healthcare facilities.

A Hands-On Allied Health Program

The Nursing Assistant Program core curriculum uses a “hands-on” approach that teaches these essential skills:

  • Basic nursing skills
  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Nutrition
  • Infection control
  • Basic patient care

The Cambridge team of healthcare professionals provides personal attention and real-life medical scenarios to prepare students for a successful career as a Nursing Assistant. Upon course completing, students are prepared with the necessary experience and knowledge to obtain their license and become a qualified Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). This CNA program typically takes 5 weeks to complete.

What Does A Nursing Assistant Do?

Nursing Assistants work closely with patients and doctors in providing day-to-day services and basic patient care. They typically work in hospitals, medical practices, doctor’s offices and community care facilities focused in elderly care.

Nursing Assistant Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To:
  • Preparing patients for exams
  • Checking patient vitals
  • Administering medicine
  • Reporting medical conditions to the doctor
  • Performing basic medical procedures
  • Providing on-going patient care
