Xray Technician Curriculum Requirements

Required Courses

XR101 Basic Radiographic and Principals

  • 7.5 weeks
  • 120 clock hours

This course instructs students in basic radiographic exposure, principles of radiation projection, patient and self- protection, and patient care and management.


MX101 Basic Radiographic and Principals

  • 4 weeks
  • 80 clock hours

This course instructs students in basic radiographic exposure, principles of radiation projection, patient and self- protection, and patient care and management.

XR102 Processing

  • 5 weeks
  • 80 clock hours

This course includes contrast media, image processing, automatic and manual processing,
x-ray darkroom, silver recovery systems, special radiography, continuing education and Florida state board examination preparation.

 

MX102 Processing

  • 3 weeks
  • 60 clock hours

This course includes contrast media, image processing, automatic and manual processing, x-ray darkroom, silver recovery systems, special radiography, continuing education and Florida state board examination preparation.

 

XR103 Terminology & Positioning for Chest & Upper Body

  • 7.5 weeks
  • 120 clock hours

This course includes radiological and positioning terminology for the chest and upper extremities, and includes anatomy of the chest, limbs, thorax, ribs and sternum.

This course includes radiological and positioning terminology for the chest and upper extremities, and includes anatomy of the chest, limbs, thorax, ribs and sternum.

This course includes radiological and positioning terminology for the abdomen and lower extremities, anatomy of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract, hepatobiliary system, urinary system, lower limbs and pelvis.
