Nursing Assistant Training Curriculum

Curriculum Requirements

Required Courses

NA101B Nursing Assistant

  • 4 weeks
  • 80 clock hours

A negative TB test or negative chest x-ray report from a physician must be on file prior to externship  (NA102). Students perform basic personal care and nursing skills as related to long-term resident care. In addition, students complete a 40-hour externship in a skilled long-term care facility.

NA102 Nursing Assistant Externship

  • 2 weeks
  • 40 clock hours
  • Prerequisite-NA101 or NA101B

Students must provide documentation of negative TB test or negative chest x-ray report from a physician prior to entrance to this class. Students attend a 40- hour hands-on -training experience that introduces them to employment in the nursing assistant field. Students perform and practice personal care, and basic nursing skills as related to skilled long-term care or hospital.
