What Does A Medical Assistant Do?
Under the direct supervision of physicians, medical assistants are generally responsible for the following duties:
- Scheduling and greeting patients
- Paperwork and basic billings
- Preparing patients for exams
- Performing basic medical procedures
A Hands-on Approach to Medical Training
At the Cambridge Institute of Allied Health & Technology you’ll be trained to perform clinical procedures that include: anatomy and physiology, medication administration, phlebotomy and clinical laboratory skills, injections, EKG, assisting with minor surgical procedures, phlebotomy and lab procedures in a physician's office, outpatient medical facility, hospital and other related healthcare settings.

Medical Assistant Certification
Students who complete the Medical Assistant program at Cambridge Institute are eligible to sit for the RMA, CMA and NCCT national registry and certification examinations.
This 40-week program curriculum covers the following: health care delivery systems, health occupations, communication, interpersonal skills, computer literacy, infection control, and recognition and response to emergency situations.
