The objective of the medical assistant certification programs is to provide students with career training for employment as a Medical Assistant in a physician's office, outpatient medical facility, hospital, or other related health care setting. Upon completion of this certified degree program, the motivated learner will be able to demonstrate knowledge and operation of administrative procedures that include use of medical office process, medical billing and insurance codes, managing office inventory, financial collections, correspondence, basic x-ray machine operations knowledge and appointment scheduling.
Medical Assistant School Courses
Course objectives relative to clinical procedures include: anatomy & physiology, medication administration, phlebotomy and clinical laboratory skills, injections, EKG, assisting with minor surgical procedures, phlebotomy and lab procedures in a physician's office, outpatient medical facility, hospital and other related healthcare settings. Student must complete a 220 clock- hour externship in an ambulatory care medical facility.
