Making a Difference: The Atlanta Radiation Therapy Program

The Atlanta – Radiation Therapy Program

Cambridge Institute of Allied Health & Technology Atlanta Radiation Therapy Program has grown in the last few years. Initially the program offered a 20 month certificate but has now advanced educational opportunities offering an Associates of Science Degree in Radiation Therapy. This program will take only 24 months to complete and upon completion the student will be registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). The program is Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited.

Currently students are learning how to operate highly sophisticated technological equipment that emits ionizing radiation; how to deliver high quality patient care and comfort; construct accessory devices; pay close attention to detail and learn to work independently or within a team setting; and to employ good communication and problem solving skills.

Students obtain a thorough knowledge about cancer and how it is treated as they participate in such courses as CT/Simulation, Physics, Cross Sectional Anatomy, the Principles and Practices in Radiation Therapy and many more related courses throughout the program.  Not to mention that Cambridge students have fun while learning and participating in projects, attending professional conferences – The American Society for Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) and volunteering in the community.
